Artificial intelligence terminals welcome the 'physical examination form'
2026-05-11
On May 8th, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the State Administration for Market Regulation, the Ministry of Commerce and other departments jointly issued the "Classification of Artificial Intelligence Terminal Intelligence" (GB/Z 177-2026) series of national standards, which clarify the specific standards for different products such as mobile phones, computers, televisions, glasses, car cabins, speakers, headphones, etc. Experts believe that the series of standards clearly define the level of intelligence of artificial intelligence terminals, laying a good foundation for building a safe, orderly, and efficient ecosystem of artificial intelligence terminals. It will also promote the coordinated development of China's artificial intelligence terminal industry with scale advantages and standard guidance. The rich product forms of artificial intelligence terminals are the key carriers for the large-scale implementation and systematic development of artificial intelligence technology. In recent years, China's artificial intelligence industry has flourished, and artificial intelligence terminals have been driven by rich and diverse intelligent scenarios, constantly giving birth to new products, new formats, and new experiences, effectively stimulating public consumption enthusiasm, and becoming an important pivot to tap into domestic demand potential and optimize consumption structure. Since the beginning of this year, driven by the expansion of the trade in policy for consumer goods and the deep integration of artificial intelligence technology and consumer products, artificial intelligence terminals have been highly favored by consumers. Data shows that in the first quarter, China's smartphone production reached 298 million units, a year-on-year increase of 6.9%; The production of service robots exceeded 4.4 million sets, a year-on-year increase of 2.6%. Wei Ran, Chief Engineer of China Academy of Information and Communications Technology, introduced that artificial intelligence terminals are a new generation of intelligent terminals driven by large models. Compared with traditional terminals, they mainly have four major functional upgrades: the ability to actively perceive scenes and accurately understand user intentions; Capable of multimodal interaction such as text, voice, audio and video; Can support large-scale model generation applications and intelligent agent proxy services; Relying on personal big models and knowledge bases, achieve terminal self-learning and continuous evolution. Overall, smart terminals have evolved from traditional passive execution tools to intelligent assistants that are perceptible, understandable, service-oriented, and capable of growth, redefining the relationship between humans and machines. These functions are precisely the core functional points of the highest level terminal inspection in the national standard for intelligent classification. ”Wei Ran said. Currently, artificial intelligence terminals are flourishing in various forms, showing a trend of upgrading traditional terminals, expanding emerging terminals, and exploring parallel evolution of future terminals. Traditional terminals have been upgraded to artificial intelligence terminals, with shipments of artificial intelligence smartphones, computers, and tablets exceeding tens of millions, becoming the main force in the current market; Emerging categories are rapidly emerging, with innovative products such as smart car terminals, smart glasses, and smart toys growing rapidly; The continuous exploration of native terminal forms represented by embodied intelligence will further accelerate the landing and application of artificial intelligence in the future. Artificial intelligence and terminal technology are systematically integrating, and in the future, we need to focus on breaking through three major directions. ”Wei Ran analyzed that one is to optimize the end cloud collaboration architecture, where the cloud carries high computing power and complex tasks, and the end side processes high-frequency real-time interactive tasks, achieving efficient collaboration of intelligent computing power; The second is to deepen the full stack upgrade of software and hardware, strengthen the core capabilities of computing, storage, and perception in hardware, and promote the sinking of artificial intelligence capabilities from the application layer to the operating system layer in software, building a system level intelligent base, and better supporting innovative applications of intelligent agents; The third is to upgrade the security and privacy protection system, strengthen the data security and privacy protection barriers on the end side, and ensure that terminal services are trustworthy, secure, and controllable throughout the process. The evaluation system clearly states that starting from 2023, leading enterprises in various links of the mobile phone and computer industry chains will actively launch artificial intelligence terminal related products, with different focuses on the implementation of functions. The lack of definition and grading standards for artificial intelligence terminals makes it difficult for consumers to accurately evaluate the intelligence level of different products, and also hinders enterprise product development and market positioning. There is a lack of unified consensus on the classification of terminal intelligence in the industry, and concepts are generalized and abused. Some products are trapped in parameter stuffing, and functional promotion is disconnected from actual experience. It is understood that the "Classification of Artificial Intelligence Terminal Intelligence" series of national standards adopts a "2+N" architecture. Among them, "2" refers to "Part 1: Reference Framework" and "Part 2: General Requirements". These two standards clarify the concept, classification, and testing methods of intelligence, and are the foundation of all category standards. The hierarchical system of terminal intelligence, from L1 response level, L2 tool level, L3 auxiliary level to L4 collaborative level, the level of intelligence is gradually improved. Among them, the L4 collaborative level will be further clarified and improved in subsequent revisions based on the level of industrial development. N "is a specific standard for different products such as mobile phones, computers, televisions, glasses, car cabins, speakers, headphones, etc. The first batch of standards includes 7 categories, and the development of standards for other categories will be promoted in the future. Li Hongwei, Chief Engineer of the China Electronics Information Industry Development Research Institute, stated that the biggest highlight of this series of standards is their scenarization, quantifiability, and compatibility with both cloud and office environments, covering scenarios such as office, learning, and design. This provides a unified "health check standard" for artificial intelligence terminals, which not only standardizes industry development but also facilitates consumers to make clear choices and use them with confidence. The series of standards provide a scientific and unified evaluation system for the industry, providing key support for the large-scale application and intelligent grading management of artificial intelligence terminal products in China, helping to regulate market order and enhance user experience. At the same time, it can accelerate the innovation, upgrading, and iteration of artificial intelligence terminal technology products, accurately guide the direction of technology research and development, and ensure the healthy and sustainable development of the industry. In addition, the introduction of standards will help enhance China's voice in the global AI terminal industry standard setting field, reduce technical barriers for enterprises to go global, and enhance international competitiveness. On the one hand, standards provide a direction for enterprises to benchmark and meet standards, which is conducive to supplying high-end products, improving resource utilization efficiency, promoting orderly competition, and healthy development; On the other hand, it provides consumers with technical and evaluation criteria, ensuring that there are standards to follow on the demand side, better selecting intelligent products, and improving user experience and satisfaction. ”Yu Xiuming, Vice President of China Electronics Standardization Institute, said. Lenovo Group participated in the preparation of this standard to accelerate technology popularization. Currently, AI PCs account for over 30% of Lenovo's PC shipments. The first personal super intelligent agent "Tianxi AI" in the property is moving towards becoming an "exclusive super capable partner" for individual users. Lenovo Group Vice President Abulikemu stated that Lenovo will actively implement national standards, continuously innovate terminal products around Tianxi AI, refine terminal innovation application scenarios and user experience, drive collaborative innovation among upstream and downstream partners in the industry chain, jointly promote high-quality development of the artificial intelligence terminal industry, and accelerate the popularization of artificial intelligence terminals. It is reported that in order to promote the innovative development of the artificial intelligence terminal industry, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology will strengthen the implementation and application of standards, carry out standard interpretation and special training, build a standard compliance testing platform, encourage leading enterprises to take the lead in trial, and create standard application demonstration cases and benchmark products. Accelerate the iteration of the standard system, optimize and improve the content of the standards, continuously expand the coverage of the standards, and accelerate the construction of a unified standard system that includes various terminal forms. Stimulate the effectiveness of consumer leadership, implement standards in this year's "trade in" policy for consumer goods, accelerate the formation of an artificial intelligence terminal product catalog, provide guidance for public consumption decisions, expand the breadth and depth of artificial intelligence applications, and create hot consumption scenarios. Yu Xiuming introduced that we will continue to enrich the standard categories and develop more standards for wearable devices, home appliances, trendy toys, etc., so that the intelligent grading of various terminals can be standardized. Provide standards and technical support for the implementation of national policies, offer standard consulting, product evaluation, and other services to society, and assist in the high-quality development of industries.
