Wang Yi stated that this year marks the 55th anniversary of the restoration of the lawful seat of the People's Republic of China in the United Nations. Over the past 55 years, as a permanent member of the Security Council, China has actively participated in and advanced the UN cause.** **Amid global turbulence and transformation, China holds high the banner of multilateralism. At a time of sluggish global development, China empowers and enhances effectiveness. The Global Development Initiative has mobilized over 23 billion US dollars in funds, launched more than 1,800 cooperation projects, conducted tens of thousands of capacity-building programs for developing countries, and trained over 200,000 professionals in various fields, strongly supporting the development and revitalization of the Global South.

We earnestly fulfill our financial obligations as the second-largest contributor to the UN regular budget, establish and make good use of the China-UN Peace and Development Fund and the Global Development and South-South Cooperation Fund, propose the establishment of the International Mediation Institute and the World Data Organization, prepare for the founding of the World Artificial Intelligence Cooperation Organization, and actively bid to host the Secretariat of the Agreement on Marine Biodiversity.
