Hong Kong will launch multiple discounts and activities to celebrate the 29th anniversary of its return to the motherland

As the 29th anniversary of Hong Kong's return to the motherland approaches, the Information Services Department of the Special Administrative Region Government announced on the 9th that a series of special discounts and activities covering various fields such as public transportation, culture and arts, and food consumption will be launched around July 1st to share the joy of the return with the general public.
In terms of public transportation, citizens can take trams for free from July 1st to 3rd. On July 1st, the Hong Kong MTR will offer 71000 local one-way trips in the form of a lottery, as well as discounts on airport express rides. On the same day, multiple ferry routes were opened for free, and some routes will be pre issued with boarding tickets.
In terms of culture, arts, and leisure, on July 1st, multiple fee based recreational and cultural facilities under the Leisure and Cultural Services Department of Hong Kong and the Hong Kong Wetland Park were opened for free. The designated exhibitions of M+in the West Kowloon Cultural District and all special exhibitions of the Palace Museum in Hong Kong are free for the public to visit on the same day. In addition, 14 projects under the Revitalization of Historic Buildings Partnership Program will offer free guided tours from mid June to early July, as well as dining, consumption, and accommodation discounts.
In terms of food and consumption, over a thousand restaurants and merchants will offer dining discounts on July 1st. Some public markets under the jurisdiction of the Hong Kong Food and Environmental Hygiene Department will offer different discounts. From July 1st to 7th, citizens can enjoy a 70% discount on purchasing specific products through the "Local Fish and Vegetable Direct Delivery" online store, mobile application, or physical store. On the same day, recycling in the "Green in District" community recycling network of the Environmental Protection Department can earn double the "Green Award" points.
In addition, the Hong Kong Jockey Club will hold the "Hong Kong Joint Celebration of the Return of Hong Kong Racing Day" at the Sha Tin Racecourse on July 1, and citizens can enter the public seats of the Sha Tin and Happy Valley Racecourse for free. The Peak Tram, Ngong Ping 360, Hong Kong Ocean Park, and Grand Gallery will offer package tickets or ticket discounts. Hong Kong International Airport, Hong Kong Science Park, Hong Kong Shenzhen Innovation and Technology Park, multiple shopping malls, and department stores will offer discounts on dining, consumption, and parking. The Hong Kong Tourism Board will collaborate with the industry to launch various dining, shopping, attraction, tourism, and entertainment discounts.
The SAR government thanks all sectors of society for their active response, jointly launching rich discounts and activities, and celebrating the 29th anniversary of Hong Kong's return to the motherland with the citizens.
