On June 15, the Cyber Security Bureau of the Ministry of Public Security announced 10 typical cases of cracking down on andifying illegal and criminal activities involving online rumors. These 10 typical cases reflect that some criminals arbitrarily fabricate and spread false information involving personal casualties, untrue policies, food safety and other issues, seriously disrupting social order and crossing legal red lines. In the case of Zhang fabricating facts, internet blogger Zhang, in order to attract attention and gain followers, false information such as a car accident occurring at the gate of a high school in Shandong, sparking widespread discussion among netizens. Investigation revealed that the information spread online was entirely fabricated, and local public security organs have imposed administrative penalties on Zhang. In the case of Fu, Deng, Huang, and 3 others fabricating facts, the 6 individuals are employees in the driving school training industry in Suzhou, Anhui. To attract traffic and attention and induce students to enroll, they spread so-called "driving test interpretation" videos, causing the spread rumors such as "new items added to the 2026 driving test in Suzhou, Anhui," interfering with the normal operation and examination arrangements of driving schools, damaging the of traffic management departments, and wasting public social resources. Against such illegal and criminal acts of spreading online rumors, the national public security cyber security departments will continue to intensify their to crack down on and rectify them, making every effort to maintain a clean cyberspace and social order.
