Since the opening and operation of the China Laos Railway on December 3, 2021, the railway departments of China and Laos have strengthened the organization of freight transport, improved transport capacity and efficiency, and the daily number of cross-border freight trains has increased from 2 at the beginning of opening to 23 at most.
Since this year, China Laos railway freight transport has continued to be hot, especially cross-border fruit transport, which has become a new highlight. As of June 11, the cumulative cross-border fruits transported by the China Laos railway had exceeded 185000 tons, up 73.1% year on year.
At present, the goods transported by the China Laos railway have covered 19 countries and regions, including Laos, Myanmar, Cambodia, Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, Singapore, Bangladesh, etc., and the types of goods transported have expanded from more than 10 to more than 3800 at the beginning of opening.
