Kunming South China International Fair: International buyers' shopping carts continue to expand
2026-06-16
At the 10th China South Asia Expo (South Asia Expo) currently being held in Kunming, buyers from various countries have been shuttling between exhibition halls in search of goods and business opportunities in recent days.
From traditional agricultural products such as coffee, flowers, and nuts, to "new goods" such as processing production lines and new energy and material products, their "shopping carts" are becoming increasingly full.
Agricultural products are one of the most important categories of concern for international buyers. At the export docking and exchange activities for characteristic agricultural products, representatives from about 80 purchasers from 15 countries and regions including Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia, Croatia, Thailand, Bangladesh, and 102 suppliers from 10 provinces, regions, and municipalities in China conducted precise docking, focusing on negotiating cooperation in industries such as fruits, flowers, tea, coffee, Chinese medicinal materials, and edible fungi.
At the same time, international buyers are expanding their focus from agricultural products to areas such as production equipment. Lafooco, a Vietnamese nut trading and processing enterprise that is visiting the South China International Fair for the first time, not only focuses on raw materials such as Yunnan walnuts, but also signs a contract with an intelligent equipment enterprise in Baoshan to purchase a walnut processing production line.
"In the past, we mainly purchased raw materials from the United States, Türkiye and other countries, but in recent years, the international logistics cost has fluctuated greatly." Zhu Yue, the head of the enterprise in China, said that Yunnan has rich nut resources, stable output, and has the geographical advantage of bordering Vietnam and rapid iterative automatic processing equipment. The company is very willing to take the South China International Fair as an opportunity to establish long-term and deep cooperation in Yunnan.
From the frequent cooperation reached at the South China International Fair, it can be seen that the "shopping cart" of international buyers is constantly expanding. During the exhibition, multiple business associations and enterprises from Yunnan and Malaysia signed 16 cooperation agreements, covering areas such as food procurement, logistics, and exhibition investment, with a total signing amount of 135 million yuan; A subsidiary of Yunnan Energy Investment Group signed a "New Energy Materials" procurement agreement worth 100 million yuan with a chemical enterprise in Vietnam.
Shi Yonghong, Vice President of the China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Machinery and Electrical Products, stated at the South China International Fair that the demand for infrastructure, healthcare, green energy, digital economy and other fields in South Asia continues to grow, bringing broad space to the international public procurement market. We will rely on the South China International Fair platform to promote more 'Made in China' and 'Made in Yunnan' to enter the public procurement supply chain of the United Nations and South Asian countries(Outlook New Era)
