On October 18th, the International Promotion Conference for Living in Guizhou with the theme of "More Colorful Life in Guizhou" was held in Hong Kong. Representatives and guests from the cultural and tourism industries of Hong Kong and Guizhou gathered by the banks of the Hong Kong River to discuss new opportunities for cultural and tourism cooperation between Guizhou and Hong Kong, and jointly promote the new brand of "Living in Guizhou".

"Lu Yongzheng, member of the Standing Committee of the Guizhou Provincial Party Committee and Minister of the Provincial Party Committee Propaganda Department, delivered a passionate speech at the meeting. He stated that travel is becoming a high-end industry and inevitable trend in the development of tourism. Guizhou relies on its unique scenery of mountains and rivers, livable climate conditions throughout the year, rich and colorful cultural customs, continuously innovative technological applications, and increasingly perfect supporting facilities, focusing on the "three elements" of resources, customer sources, and services, vigorously developing the tourism industry, and accelerating the construction of a first-class tourism destination in the country. In recent years, the main players in the homestay market in the province have led the country with an increase of over 30%. Tourist communities such as "Chuanyu Village", "Jiangsu Village", and "Zhejiang Village" have emerged one after another, and guests from all over the country have enjoyed their stay in Guizhou. From "seeing Guizhou" to "living in Guizhou", from "visiting Guizhou" to "enjoying Guizhou", the travel meme "Guizhou is Bai Juyi" has become popular on the internet. With the deepening and implementation of cooperation between Guizhou and Hong Kong, "living in Guizhou" is becoming a new choice for Hong Kong tourists to get to know, visit, and fall in love with Guizhou. In July 2025, Guizhou and Hong Kong officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Cultural and Tourism Cooperation, establishing a normalized cooperation mechanism in areas such as tourism product co construction, market promotion linkage, and talent exchange and training. At present, there are multiple direct high-speed trains between Guizhou and Hong Kong every day, creating favorable conditions for the two places to work together to create a "multi station" tourism product.
At the promotion event, Guizhou brought a refreshing landscape and fireworks lifestyle, inviting Hong Kong friends to move from "seeing Guizhou" to "living in Guizhou". Three characteristic travel belts were launched, including cool summer retreat, Guinan sunshine, and health and healing, as well as "five heart level" service guarantees such as worry free housing selection, trustworthy transactions, intimate loans, secure funds, and comfortable handling. Intermediary agencies, commercial banks, and travel real estate enterprises were also organized to bring 11 high-quality travel real estate projects.
At the event, Guizhou Tourism Industry Development Group signed contracts with TVB and Hong Kong Study Association respectively. The Department of Culture and Tourism of Guizhou Province has awarded the Guizhou Tourism Industry Development Group Hong Kong the "Colorful Guizhou International Tourist Transit Service Center" brand.
The attending guests evaluated the prospects of Guizhou's tourism industry from different perspectives and put forward specific suggestions for deepening cultural and tourism cooperation between Guizhou and Hong Kong. Dr. Lin Jianyue, Chairman of the Hong Kong Tourism Board, stated in his speech that more successful cultural and tourism IP operation teams in Hong Kong should be encouraged to collaborate with cultural and tourism enterprises in Guizhou Province, introducing international large-scale immersive light and shadow shows and outdoor extreme sports events to Guizhou, and creating super cultural and tourism festival IPs. At the same time, famous directors, musicians, and actors from Hong Kong should be encouraged to go to Guizhou to shoot movies, TV dramas, and documentaries, promoting Guizhou's beautiful scenery and cultural customs through the screen. Several Hong Kong representatives believe that Guizhou has a superior ecological climate, dense natural and cultural resources, and controllable living costs, making it a world-class travel destination. Hong Kong can leverage its international platform and financial advantages to work with Guizhou to explore overseas customer markets.
The promotion event will set up a free negotiation area, a six element experience area for travel, and a display area for travel enterprises, providing an intuitive platform for Guizhou Hong Kong cultural and tourism enterprises to connect and cooperate, and for Hong Kong citizens to understand Guizhou travel products.
