In January 1935, the Zunyi Conference held during the Long March was a crucial turning point in the history of our Party.

General Secretary Xi Jinping profoundly pointed out: "The Zunyi Conference, as an important meeting of great significance in the history of our Party, left valuable experience and important revelations in combining the basic principles of Marxism with China's specific reality, adhering to the path of independence and autonomy, firmly following the correct political line and policy strategies, and building a strong and mature central leadership collective."

On the occasion of commemorating the 90th anniversary of the Zunyi Conference, reviewing its historical status and significance of the turning point is of extremely important practical significance for us to remember history and walk well on the Long March in the new era.

On the eve of the Zunyi Conference, the main force of the Central Red Army had sharply decreased from more than 86,000 people at the beginning of the Long March to more than 30,000 people. With heavy troops blocking the way ahead and large forces chasing after, they fell into a crisis of being passively beaten and on the verge of being completely annihilated. After the Zunyi Conference, the Party and the Red Army turned the corner and escaped danger. The situation of the Chinese revolutionary struggle turned from passive to active, and since then the Chinese revolutionary cause has continuously achieved new and greater victories.

Why did such earth-shaking changes occur before and after the Zunyi Conference?

General Secretary Xi Jinping pointed out: "This conference established Comrade Mao Zedong's leadership position in the Red Army and the Central Party Committee, and began to establish the leading position of the correct Marxist line represented mainly by Comrade Mao Zedong in the Central Party Committee, and began to form the first generation of the central leadership collective of the Party with Comrade Mao Zedong as the core. This is the most important guarantee for our Party and the revolutionary cause to turn the corner and continuously open up new situations."

Establishing and maintaining the core of the Party's leadership is the concentrated embodiment of the unique and distinct political advantage of the Communist Party of China and the urgent need to advance the great cause and conduct the great struggle.

Since the new era, General Secretary Xi Jinping, with the grandeur, foresight and great strategy of a Marxist statesman, thinker and strategist, has calmly steered various complex situations, effectively responded to various risks and challenges at home and abroad, won the heartfelt support of the whole Party, the whole army and the people of all ethnic groups, and received high praise from the international community, becoming the core of the Party, the people's leader and the commander of the military as everyone expected and deserved.

The Resolution of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China on the Major Achievements and Historical Experience of the Party's Centenary Struggle profoundly pointed out when summarizing the great achievements and valuable experience in the new era: "The Party's establishment of Comrade Xi Jinping's core position in the Central Party Committee and the whole Party and the guiding position of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era reflects the common aspiration of the whole Party, the whole army and the people of all ethnic groups and is of decisive significance for the development of the cause of the Party and the state in the new era and for advancing the historical process of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation."

The "Two Establishments" are the decisive factors in promoting the Party and the state to achieve historic achievements and undergo historic changes, and are the greatest certainty, the greatest confidence and the greatest guarantee for the Party and the people to cope with all uncertainties.

Another important enlightenment of the Zunyi Conference is that only by combining the basic principles of Marxism-Leninism with the specific reality of the Chinese revolution and independently solving a series of major problems related to the future and destiny of the Chinese revolution can the final victory be achieved.

General Secretary Xi Jinping emphasized: "Independence and autonomy are the inevitable conclusions of our Party's revolution, construction and reform starting from China's reality and relying on the strength of the Party and the people. Whether in the past, present or future, we should always place the development of the country and the nation on the basis of our own strength, adhere to national self-esteem and self-confidence and unswervingly follow our own path."

Since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, the Central Party Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping as the core has been based in China, looking at the world and facing the future, with the strategic overall situation of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation and the great changes unseen in the world in a century in mind. Facing severe and complex risks and challenges, it has attached great importance to adhering to independence, autonomy and self-reliance.

On June 25, 2024, after a 53-day space journey, Change-6 completed the first sampling on the back of the moon in human history and returned to the earth with 1,935.3 grams of precious lunar soil on the back of the moon; on November 14, 2024, the annual output of new energy vehicles in China first exceeded 10 million, and the new energy vehicle industry has entered a new stage of high-quality development... In 2025, the "14th Five-Year Plan" is coming to an end, laying a solid foundation for a good start in the "15th Five-Year Plan". This is of great significance in the process of China's modernization construction. We must maintain strategic focus, be independent and innovative, and unswervingly follow our own path, firmly grasping the initiative of development in our own hands.
