On the 23rd, Wang Huning, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, attended a national symposium for leaders of religious groups to celebrate the Spring Festival together with religious figures. On behalf of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and General Secretary Xi Jinping, he extended his New Spring greetings to religious figures and believers across the country. Wang Huning affirmed the work of various national religious groups in 2024 and expressed hope for doing a good job in 2025. He stated that we must adhere to the guidance of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, thoroughly implement the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China and the Third Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee, implement General Secretary Xi Jinping's important discourse on religious work and the decision-making department of the Party Central Committee on religious work, adhere to the direction of sinicization of religion in China, strengthen the governance of religious affairs, build positive and healthy religious relations, and contribute to promoting Chinese style modernization. We need to strengthen ideological and political guidance, promote the fine tradition of patriotism and love for religion, and guide the religious community and believers to enhance their "five identifications". We must systematically promote the sinicization of religion in China, adhere to the guidance of socialist core values and the infiltration of Chinese culture, and gradually form religious doctrines and ideas that are in line with the characteristics of China's national conditions. We need to strengthen the rule of law in the governance of religious affairs, promote the enhancement of national consciousness, civic consciousness, and rule of law consciousness among religious communities and believers, and ensure that there are laws and regulations to follow in our work. We must continue to promote comprehensive and strict governance of education, and enhance the self-education, self-management, and self-restraint abilities and levels of the religious community.
