As an event within the framework of the China Russia Cultural Year, the opening ceremony of the "Ilina Zakharova Chinese Character Embroidery Calligraphy Exhibition" was held on January 30th at the Greenwood International Trade Center in Moscow. Chinese Ambassador to Russia, Mrs. Zhang Hanhui, Gao Yan, First Vice Chairman of the International Affairs Committee of the Russian Federation Council, Mr. Denisov, Ambassador and Cultural Counsellor of the Chinese Embassy in Russia, Mr. Feng Litao, Spokesperson of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Maria Zakharova, First Vice Chairman of the Russia China Friendship Association, Ms. Kulikova, and Chairman of China Chengtong International Investment Co., Ltd., Mr. Sun Bohui, attended the opening ceremony and delivered speeches. Former Deputy Secretary General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, Zaharov, presided over the opening ceremony. In his speech, Denisov praised Irina Zakharova's works for their rich cultural heritage. He emphasized that the Cultural Year between Russia and China was exciting and diverse, and believed that cultural exchanges and cooperation between the two countries would be further strengthened in the future. Feng Litao stated in his speech that within the framework of the China Russia Cultural Year, the two countries have successfully held numerous cultural exchange activities. This exhibition is a unique fusion of Chinese and Russian folk art and a new achievement of cultural exchange between the two sides. Maria Zaharova shared the story behind her mother's creation of these works in her speech, wished the Chinese people a happy New Year, and hoped that Russia China cultural exchanges would continue to deepen. In her speech, Kulikova reviewed how Irina Zakharova embarked on the path of artistic innovation and cultural integration between Russia and China while living in Beijing. She praised Irina Zakharova's works for their unique artistic form, profound cultural connotations, and love for Chinese culture. Sun Bohui praised Irina Zakharova's innovative fusion of Chinese calligraphy and cloth embroidery skills in her speech, stating that her works contain profound Eastern cultural heritage and are a vivid embodiment of cultural exchange between China and Russia. Irina Zakharova is a PhD in art and a senior researcher at the Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts in Russia. During her time living in China with her husband Zakharov, she delved deeply into Chinese folk art and skillfully combined Chinese calligraphy with fabric embroidery in her works. At the opening ceremony, she told the audience about the creative process and cultural significance of multiple works, stating that each one embodies her love for Chinese culture.
