On the morning of February 6, President Xi Jinping met with Prime Minister Petongtan of Thailand, who is on an official visit to China, at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing.

Xi Jinping pointed out that China and Thailand have enjoyed friendly exchanges for thousands of years, and the saying "China and Thailand are one family" has endured and grown even more vibrant. Since the establishment of diplomatic relations half a century ago, the two countries have adhered to mutual respect, equality, sincerity, mutual trust, and mutual assistance, and have always firmly supported each other in safeguarding national sovereignty, security, and development interests. This year marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Thailand and the "Golden 50 Years of China-Thailand Friendship". The two sides should build on past achievements, move forward hand in hand, deepen the building of a China-Thailand community with a shared future, and better benefit the people of both countries and bring more benefits to the region and the world.

Xi Jinping emphasized that in the face of the profound changes unseen in a century, China and Thailand should consolidate strategic mutual trust, firmly support each other, and use the stability and certainty of China-Thailand relations to address the uncertainties of the external environment. China is willing to align development strategies with Thailand, expand mutually beneficial cooperation, implement flagship projects such as the China-Thailand Railway, and promote the early realization of more achievements of the connectivity and development vision of China, Laos and Thailand. Deepen cooperation in emerging fields such as the digital economy and new energy vehicles, and jointly build a more stable and smooth industrial chain and supply chain. China appreciates the strong measures taken by Thailand to combat online gambling and telecommunications fraud. The two sides should continue to strengthen law enforcement, security and judicial cooperation to safeguard the safety of people's lives and property and the order of exchanges and cooperation among regional countries. It is necessary to deepen mutual understanding and friendship, jointly hold rich and colorful activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations, and create more projects that warm the hearts and benefit the people, so that the friendship between China and Thailand can take root in the hearts of the people and be passed down from generation to generation. China supports Thailand in serving as the co-chair of the Lancang-Mekong Cooperation and congratulates Thailand on becoming a partner country of the BRICS. China is willing to closely communicate and collaborate with Thailand to firmly defend the international system with the United Nations at its core and the international order based on international law, enhance the unity and cooperation of the Global South, maintain world peace and promote common development.

Petongtan said that she is very glad to visit China on the occasion of the "Golden 50 Years of Thailand-China Friendship". Over the past 50 years, Thailand-China relations have weathered storms and have always helped each other and developed together. The two sides have always trusted each other and respected each other's core interests, and have established a special friendly and cooperative relationship. Thailand firmly adheres to the one-China policy and looks forward to working with China to strengthen high-level exchanges, closely connect and cooperate in areas such as infrastructure, economy and trade, and agriculture, promote people-to-people and cultural exchanges and enhance people's mutual understanding, so as to open up the next 50 years of shared peace and common prosperity and benefit future generations. Thailand is willing to strengthen law enforcement cooperation with China and other neighboring countries, take resolute and effective measures to combat cross-border crimes such as online gambling and telecommunications fraud.
