The first batch of materials delivery ceremony for China's 35 MW solar photovoltaic power plant equipment project in Cuba was held on the morning of the 14th in Guanahai, Artemisa Province, located about 53 kilometers west of the Cuban capital Havana. Chinese Ambassador to Cuba Hua Xin, Deputy Minister of Foreign Trade and Investment Rivas, and Deputy Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Amaran attended the meeting. Rivas expressed sincere gratitude to the Chinese side on behalf of the Cuban government and people at the delivery ceremony. She said that these projects help improve the complex energy situation in Cuba and are a symbol of solidarity and cooperation between the two countries. With the contribution and support of China, Cuba is moving towards sustainable development and energy transformation, and working hand in hand with China to build a community with a shared future for both countries. Huaxin stated that the delivery of this batch of materials marks a solid step forward in the field of new energy cooperation between China and Cuba, once again proving the special friendly relationship and determination of the two countries to work together for development. China is pushing forward the project schedule according to the established plan, contributing Chinese strength to ensuring energy security and promoting sustainable social development in Cuba. It is reported that the project includes the construction of seven photovoltaic power stations across Cuba, and all relevant construction materials will be in place in the first half of this year. After grid connection, it will further enhance Cuba's clean power supply capacity, and is expected to save 18000 tons of imported fuel annually, reducing the energy burden on the country.
