On March 18, 2024, the "Boao Near Zero Carbon Demonstration Zone" was launched and put into operation. After a year of efforts, the demonstration zone has achieved significant results in energy conservation and emission reduction, officially declaring the key leap from "near zero carbon" to "zero carbon". It is reported that the demonstration zone has achieved zero carbon operation by establishing an "eight in one" regional carbon reduction layout that combines renewable energy utilization, green building renovation, green transportation renovation, new power system construction, material recycling, water resource recycling, ecological landscape renovation, and intelligent operation. It has obtained the certification of "zero carbon operation area" issued by the German Energy Agency for the first time in China, meeting the indicators of "zero carbon area, zero carbon building, and low-carbon building" in the national standard "Zero Carbon Building Technology Standard", and has reached the level of "international first-class and domestic leading".
