On May 17th, the Research Promotion Conference on Building an Education Strong Country, jointly hosted by the Chinese Society of Higher Education and Tsinghua University, was held in Beijing. Xiong Sihao, member of the Party Group and Vice Minister of the Ministry of Education, attended the meeting and delivered a speech. Lin Huiqing, President of the Chinese Association of Higher Education, presided over the meeting. Qiu Yong, Secretary of the Party Committee of Tsinghua University, delivered a speech. At the meeting, the China Higher Education Association established the Research Center for Building a Strong Higher Education Country and released the first batch of key projects to serve the construction of a strong education country. The meeting pointed out that as a higher education academic community, a national think tank directly under the Ministry of Education for higher education, and a bridge connecting the Party and the government to the higher education front, the association has carried out a series of strong and effective higher education research, achieving important results in providing political advice, theoretical innovation, and public opinion guidance. The development concept and conscious action of the society have become to drive effective rotation with the purpose of revolution. Looking towards the future, we must strengthen research in higher education to better serve the overall development of the country. Firstly, we need to elevate our political stance and deeply understand the significance of building a strong education country. To enhance ideological guidance, strengthen theoretical armament, recognize changes in the situation, identify research positioning, grasp key directions, and clarify task objectives. The second is to focus on major issues and strengthen strategic support for the construction of a strong education country. We need to focus on the fundamental issues of building a strong education country, the strategic challenges of building a strong education country, and the reform difficulties that drive the whole system. We need to continue to increase research efforts and create a strategic leading force. The third is to innovate research models, continuously improve the mechanism guarantee of educational strategy research, strengthen overall planning and layout, enhance process management, gather various forces, and promote application transformation. The Research Center for Building a Strong Education Country of the Chinese Society of Higher Education should focus on creating a new high-end think tank network, organizing and driving research on the higher education front, and serving the construction of an education country with practical results. 150 people, including heads of education departments, research institutes, and higher education institutions from 100 universities across the country, as well as renowned experts and scholars, attended the conference.
