On the 19th, the Commerce and Economic Development Bureau and the Environment and Ecology Bureau of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government signed cooperation arrangements with the General Administration of Customs on the "Single Window", the "Memorandum of Understanding on Inspection, Quarantine and Hygiene Requirements for Meat Products Exported from Hong Kong to the Mainland" and the "Cooperation Arrangement for Dairy Products Exported from Hong Kong to the Mainland", further strengthening cooperation and exchanges between Hong Kong and the Mainland in related industries and promoting system integration. As Hong Kong's largest trading partner in goods, the mainland has frequent cross-border trade, and an efficient and convenient customs clearance process for goods is particularly important. The General Administration of Customs, together with relevant departments, will continue to deepen the construction of the one-stop service function of the "single window" for international trade. Implementing a 'single window' will help improve the efficiency of customs clearance for goods in Hong Kong and consolidate its position as an international trade center and logistics hub. In terms of food trade, cooperation arrangements will be made to implement source monitoring of food safety for Hong Kong made meat and dairy products exported to the mainland, covering requirements for source testing of food raw materials and production management of food manufacturers, including product storage and transportation. On that day, the Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, Li Jiachao, met with the Director General of the General Administration of Customs, Sun Meijun, in Hong Kong to exchange views on strengthening law enforcement and cooperation between Hong Kong and mainland customs. Li Jiachao stated that the cooperation agreement signed between the General Administration of Customs of China and the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government will promote cooperation in the flow of people and goods between the mainland and Hong Kong, and help enhance Hong Kong's position as an international trade and shipping center.
