The 29th World Gas Congress opened on the 20th at the Beijing National Convention Center. This is the first time in nearly a century that the World Gas Conference has been held in China. The conference, with the theme of "Empowering Sustainable Future", attracted over 3000 representatives from about 70 countries and regions around the world to gather together for in-depth exchanges and consensus building on global energy transformation, natural gas industry development, and sustainable future paths. On May 20th, Li Yalan, the President of the International Gas Union, delivered a speech at the opening ceremony. According to Xinhua News Agency reporter Ju Huanzong, this conference will hold more than 80 high-level thematic forums covering LNG development, coupling of natural gas and renewable energy, energy security, digital transformation and other fields. More than 400 guests will have in-depth exchanges on industry trends and technological innovations. On that day, the 29th World Gas Congress exhibition hosted by the International Gas Union also kicked off. It is reported that this exhibition will last for 4 days and cover the entire gas industry chain, from upstream exploration and development, midstream long-distance pipelines, to downstream terminal applications. Oil and gas companies, infrastructure companies, and urban gas companies from around the world will showcase the development achievements and technological breakthroughs in various links of the traditional gas field, aiming to promote the coordinated development of the entire industry chain. The World Gas Congress is held every three years by the International Gas Union and is known as the "Olympic" event of the global gas industry.
