The Ministry of Public Security has announced 8 typical cases of online rumors. Case 1: Liu Mougao fabricated and spread online rumors about a 4.6-magnitude earthquake in Ya'an, Sichuan. Recently, the Fujian Public Security Network Security Department found that Liu Mougao (male, 35 years old), in order to attract fans and traffic, posted rumors on a social media platform that "a 4.6-magnitude earthquake occurred in Lushan County, Ya'an City at 3:18am on March 30th", causing panic among local residents, misleading a large number of netizens to pay attention, and disrupting social public order. Case 2: Yuan Moumei fabricated and spread online rumors about a reservoir in Hubei being designated as a construction and household waste landfill. Recently, the Hubei Public Security Network Security Department found that Yuan Moumei (female, 58 years old) fabricated online rumors about "cadres in Yinqian Village, Lengshui Town illegally setting up village reservoirs as construction and household waste landfill sites" and posted them on a short video platform, misleading a large number of netizens to pay attention to and discuss, causing local residents to worry about the ecological environment. After verification, the village is organizing excavators to expand the capacity of four sets of reservoirs for future water storage, rather than using the reservoirs as a landfill for construction and household waste. Case 3: Chen fabricated and spread online rumors about a fire in Zigong, Sichuan. Recently, the Sichuan Public Security Network Security Department found out that Chen (male, 37 years old) downloaded a video of a big fire burning mountains in order to attract fans and attract traffic. He edited and spliced it, and added the following message: "A fire broke out in Aiye Town. Please wait for further notice for the specific situation. Follow me and learn about the latest news in Zigong. It's an emergency!" He posted it on a short video platform, causing panic among local residents, misleading a large number of netizens to follow, and disrupting social public order. Case 4: Qin Moulu fabricated and spread online rumors about a tower crane collapse accident in a residential area under construction in Sichuan. Recently, the Shanxi Public Security Network Security Department found that Qin Moulu (female, 35 years old) used AI tools to fabricate online rumors with the content of "Suddenly! A tower crane collapsed in a residential area in Sichuan, causing a shocking moment, and workers fell from a high altitude and were seriously injured" in order to attract fans and attract traffic, and posted them on her personal online account, misleading a large number of netizens and disrupting social public order. Case 5: Xie Mouyue fabricated and spread online rumors about a malignant criminal case in Hangzhou. Recently, the Zhejiang public security network security department found out that Xie Mouyue (male, 27 years old) used AI tools to fabricate an online rumor about "a vicious criminal case occurred in Binjiang District in the early morning of April 7" in order to attract and drain powder, which was published on an Internet platform, causing panic among local residents, misleading a large number of netizens and disturbing public order. Case 6: Zeng fabricated and spread online rumors about a terrorist incident in the university town. Recently, the Chongqing Public Security Network Security Department discovered that on March 26th, the Chongqing Public Security Traffic Management Department conducted a patrol of drunk driving near the University City in Chongqing. Zeng (male, 51 years old) filmed a scene inspection video and fabricated a false alarm on a short video platform, claiming that "a terrorist incident occurred in the University City, and several police cars and armed police were mobilized." This caused panic among local residents, misled a large number of netizens to pay attention, and disrupted public order. Case 7: Zhu Moufang fabricated and spread online rumors about a fight in Xiushan, Chongqing that resulted in 5 deaths. Recently, the Chongqing Public Security Network Security Department has confirmed that on April 17th, a traffic accident involving two vehicles collided at the entrance of Longchi School in Xiushan County, with no casualties. Zhu Qifang (female, 37 years old), in order to attract attention, filmed on-site disposal videos and fabricated false police reports such as "someone was killed here, and the police came" and "5 people died in Xiushan, Chongqing". She posted them on a certain short video platform, causing panic among local residents, misleading a large number of netizens to pay attention, and disrupting social public order. Case 8: Cen Mouyong fabricated and spread online rumors about a stampede in Shenzhen Metro. Recently, the Guangdong Public Security Network Security Department found that Cen Mouyong (male, 28 years old) saw an elderly person bending down to pick up things while taking the subway at "Shenzhen North Station" on the evening of April 3, and then took a video. In order to attract attention and attract fans, a rumor video about a stampede in the Shenzhen subway was compiled that night and posted on a certain short video platform, misleading a large number of netizens and disrupting social public order.
