The "Forum on Building an International High end Talent Agglomeration Hub and Deepening International Exchange and Cooperation" and the "unveiling ceremony of the DAB Talent Highland" jointly organized by the Hong Kong Democratic Alliance for the Betterment and Progress of Hong Kong Talent Highland Office and the Hong Kong SAR Government Labour and Welfare Bureau were held in Hong Kong on the 3rd, aiming to call on all sectors of society to leverage the advantages of Hong Kong's "One Country, Two Systems" system and build Hong Kong into an international high-end talent aggregation hub. The Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, Carrie Lam, attended the forum and delivered a speech, stating that in order to become an international hub for high-end talent, Hong Kong should adopt a broad mindedness and gather talents from all over the world. The SAR government will continue to gather forces from all sectors of society, establish an excellent and diverse talent pool, and make greater contributions to the country's talent strength and Hong Kong's talent resources. Liu Guangyuan, Deputy Director of the Liaison Office of the Central Government in Hong Kong, stated that with the active actions of the SAR government and the joint efforts of various sectors of Hong Kong society, Hong Kong has built an international high-end talent gathering highland with a good start and a strong momentum, and the future is promising. In the future, we should further increase our external publicity efforts to make talents yearn for Hong Kong. He also called for further improvement in service guarantees, so that talents can take root in Hong Kong without worries and further cultivate a fertile ground for development, enabling talents to have great potential in Hong Kong. Li Huiqiong, member of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress and conference adviser of the People's Construction Federation, said that under the framework of "one country, two systems", Hong Kong has a global business environment, an international legal system and a multi-cultural culture, which is a solid foundation for building a talent highland. Hong Kong should play the role of a 'super contact', gather global talents, and serve national and local development. It is reported that the Democratic Alliance for the Betterment and Progress of Hong Kong (DAB) will establish the Talent Highland Office in October 2024, aiming to become a collaborative platform that can cooperate with various talent policies of the Hong Kong SAR government, fully leverage the flexible advantages of the private sector, and combine different sectors.
