Recently, the General Office of the Ministry of Education and the General Office of the Central Propaganda Department jointly issued the "Notice on Deepening the Implementation of the National Youth Student Reading Action" (hereinafter referred to as the "Notice"), further improving the quality of the implementation of the youth student reading action, strengthening the ethnic cultural foundation of young people through reading, enhancing their comprehensive quality and innovation ability, and providing strong support for the construction of a strong country. The Notice proposes to innovate and implement five major projects based on the existing work of the Youth Student Reading Action. Implement the Bookish Campus Construction Project. Integrating reading organically into school education and teaching, advocating for segmented reading goals, carrying out the "one hour reading per day" and "half day weekend reading enjoyment" actions, making reading a norm, and continuously improving students' active participation and self practice in reading. Implement the Reading Resource Optimization Project. Enrich the supply of resources and further strictly control the content review of youth reading materials. Strengthen reading promotion and launch the "One person, one book, give you a golden key" campaign. Caring for special groups, implementing the "Bright Future Plan" and the "Rural School Library Revitalization Plan". Implement the Reading Literacy Cultivation Project. Develop a reading index for teenagers, strengthen the construction of reading guidance teams, and explore strategies for family parent-child reading guidance paths. Implement the Technology Empowerment Reading Innovation Project. Strengthen the empowerment of digital intelligence, promote the combination of digital reading and traditional reading, develop "AI reading assistants", gradually cover the "AI assisted reading plan" in primary and secondary schools, and create the National Smart Education Reading Platform 2.0 version to digitally support youth reading and lifelong learning. Implement the reading achievement display and transformation project. Encourage young students to engage in deep thinking after reading, carry out "walking reading", and achieve the combination of reading and thinking, and the integration of knowledge and action. The Notice requires strengthening organizational leadership and closely integrating the Reading Action with the construction of a socialist cultural and educational power; Establish a sound working mechanism, strengthen collaboration between families, schools, and communities, and encourage schools in various regions to create reading activity brands based on their actual situations; Strengthen publicity and promotion, regularly organize reading exhibitions and exchange activities for young students, and support innovative exploration and in-depth implementation of characteristic paths for young students' reading actions in various regions.
