The China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing announced today (5th) the China Commodity Price Index for May. From the operation of the index, the Chinese commodity price index slightly rebounded month on month in May, indicating that with the easing of global market tension, confidence in the commodity market has been restored to a certain extent, and market vitality has been enhanced. The China Commodity Price Index for May was 110.3 points, up 0.3% month on month. Among the 50 bulk commodities monitored by the China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing, 17 of them saw a month on month price increase in May. Looking at different industries, the non-ferrous price index saw a slight increase, reaching 127.7 points, with a month on month increase of 0.9%; The chemical price index has rebounded and stopped falling, with a month on month increase of 0.5%. Downstream consumer market demand remains stable, and prices of some agricultural products remain firm. The agricultural product price index has risen month on month for five consecutive months. The black, mineral, and energy price indices continue to decline. Experts say that although the current global market tension has eased, external uncertainties and instability risks still exist. The prices of bulk commodities in some industries continue to decline, and the problem of insufficient effective demand is still prominent. Efforts need to be made to strengthen and consolidate the foundation of economic stabilization and improvement, especially through the continuous increase of government investment in public goods, significantly expanding market demand, increasing enterprise orders, effectively and effectively driving the continuous recovery of enterprise production and investment, accelerating the transformation of old and new driving forces, and creating conditions for the stable operation of the bulk commodity market.
