Recently, the expert medical team of the People's Liberation Army General Hospital went to a naval unit in the southern theater of war to carry out medical patrols and grassroots activities. Before departure, the General Hospital of the People's Liberation Army, based on a full understanding of the health needs of the stationed officers and soldiers, organized experts from multiple departments such as dentistry, traditional Chinese medicine, and dermatology to scientifically formulate a patrol plan, ensuring the provision of fine, comprehensive, and effective high-quality medical services to the officers and soldiers. During the inspection period, the expert medical team not only set up temporary diagnosis and treatment points in the hospital, but also went deep into grassroots units and various positions to provide diagnosis, treatment, and health consultation for the vast number of officers and soldiers. Traditional Chinese Medicine expert Guan Enfu, based on years of clinical experience, used suction therapy, massage techniques, and other methods to provide rehabilitation treatment for officers and soldiers on site. Considering that the officers and soldiers of the department have been stationed on islands with high temperature, high humidity, and high salt for a long time, they are more prone to gum swelling, oral mucosal diseases, temporomandibular joint disorders, and other conditions. The medical team has gifted a batch of independently developed oral preventive hygiene products to the officers and soldiers, which can effectively alleviate oral health problems caused by desalinated seawater. In order to leave a "medical team that cannot be taken away" for grassroots officers and soldiers, expert medical teams have also carried out a series of activities such as training for medical personnel. They provide guidance to military medical personnel on the daily diagnosis and treatment of common and frequently occurring diseases, as well as the handling of sudden and critical illnesses among stationed officers and soldiers on the island. They have trained a group of grassroots medical backbone personnel, enabling timely diagnosis and treatment of health problems among grassroots officers and soldiers. It is reported that the expert medical team visited multiple grassroots units and distributed more than 1000 practical diagnosis and treatment guidelines such as the "Oral Health Prevention and Treatment Manual" and the "Common Training Injury Prevention and Treatment Manual". The leader of the medical team, Xiao Rui, stated that the health information and questionnaire survey collected during this visit will provide important references for optimizing the medical support plan for naval special forces personnel, thereby further improving the quality and efficiency of medical support for naval officers and soldiers.
