Hong Kong officials aim to build smart cities through artificial intelligence and robotics technology

The "Hong Kong Intelligent Robot Development Prospects Forum and the Opening Ceremony of the Aberdeen Robot Body Intelligent Brand Strategy" was held on the afternoon of the 16th at the Hong Kong Science Park, where over 150 leaders, officials, and scholars in the field of artificial intelligence discussed the prospects of the innovative robot industry. In his speech, Chen Haolian, Deputy Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, stated that the government attaches great importance to the development of artificial intelligence and robotics technology. Through funding programs such as the "New Industry Acceleration Program" and the "New Industrialization Subsidy Program," the government supports enterprises in developing intelligent manufacturing and advanced technology applications in Hong Kong, promoting the high value-added and intelligent development of Hong Kong's industry, accelerating the commercialization and industrialization of innovative and technological achievements, and contributing to the construction of smart cities, sustainable cities, and livable cities. The event is hosted by Hong Kong's first fully intelligent humanoid robot company, Aberdeen Robotics Group Holdings Limited (referred to as "Aberdeen Robotics"). At the conference, "Hong Kong Robot" released multiple humanoid robots that can be applied to different scenarios, showcasing for the first time the innovative achievements of Hong Kong's local embodied intelligent humanoid robots to the world. It hopes to expand to Southeast Asia, the Middle East, Europe, and North America markets through an international platform. Qin Jie, CEO of "Gangzai Robotics" Group, stated that "Gangzai Robotics" has established a global operation center and robot production line in Hong Kong, hoping to leverage the innovative technology advantages of the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area to enhance technology and promote the implementation of innovative achievements. Chen Haolian stated that the "One Zone, Two Parks" of the Hetao Shenzhen Hong Kong Science and Technology Innovation Cooperation Zone is positioned to provide experimental and landing scenarios for innovative robots and artificial intelligence startups. The SAR government will continue to promote policy innovation, facilitate efficient cross-border flow of people, logistics, capital, and data, and make the zone a new experimental field for institutional innovation. At the same time, combined with the development of the northern metropolitan area, it will create a diversified industrial ecosystem of innovation, technology, commerce, and logistics, and create new opportunities.
