It is understood that according to relevant laws and regulations such as the Law on the Construction of Accessible Environment, traffic signal facilities around pedestrian crossings in urban central areas, concentrated employment units for disabled persons, and concentrated schools should be equipped with pedestrian crossing sound prompt devices in accordance with standards, so that specific groups such as visually impaired people can participate and integrate into social life equally, ensuring their safe and secure crossing of the street through sound prompts, and avoiding danger caused by the inability to recognize traffic signal facilities. There are more than 2600 visually impaired people in Shijingshan District, and nearly 400 visually impaired people in the Apple Garden Street where the intersection is located. In addition, there are elderly people, color blind patients and other visually impaired people who have a need for barrier free facilities in the surrounding area. It is reported that Shijingshan District has actively explored the construction of barrier free environment, and has installed traffic light crossing sound prompt devices at multiple intersections in the jurisdiction.
