The project of "Kuafu" (CRAFT), an integrated research facility for key systems of fusion reactor host, undertaken by the Institute of Plasma Physics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences Hefei Institute of Physical Sciences, has made important progress. On June 18th, the low clutter current drive system of the facility passed the expert group's testing and acceptance. The system has been fully localized and its performance has reached the international leading level. The low clutter current drive system is an important component of the national "13th Five Year Plan" major scientific and technological infrastructure - "Kuafu". It aims to solve key technologies such as coupling antenna design for reactors, long-distance low loss power transmission, and reliable and safe operation of multiple tube parallel connections, providing a scientific and technological foundation for the construction of low clutter current drive systems for fusion reactors. Liu Liang, the person in charge of the low clutter current drive system, introduced that the system is used to drive and maintain the circumferential plasma current of tokamak devices, regulate the distribution of plasma current, achieve effective heating of plasma electrons, assist in plasma current driving, suppress boundary localized modes, optimize the heat flux distribution of diverters, etc. It mainly consists of a microwave source system, microwave transmission line, coupling antenna, monitoring and protection, high-voltage power supply, and water cooling system. Ye Minyou, the leader of the acceptance expert group and a professor at the University of Science and Technology of China, believes that the system's trial operation and process testing results indicate that all indicators of the system meet the acceptance requirements. It is reported that the project team has achieved a center frequency of 4.6GHz after five years of technical research and development; The maximum total output power of the microwave source is 4MW; testing and acceptance of operating pulse lengths greater than 100s, and completion of key technical research on antenna design and component pre research for reactors, microwave low loss transmission and mode conversion, and safe and reliable system operation. Through cooperation with relevant domestic units, the project team has successfully developed 4.6GHz 500kW dual window and single window klystrons, 500kW circulators, and all systems have been localized. The related technologies can be extended to microwave heating, wireless communication, medical health, electronic technology and other fields. As one of the 19 subsystems of "Kuafu", the successful acceptance of the low clutter current drive system marks the completion of the complete process from design optimization, pre research verification, manufacturing to testing and acceptance of the system and its key components, laying a solid scientific and technological foundation for the design and development of fusion reactor wave heating systems.
