The original ethnic dance drama "Dream of the Red Chamber" by Jiangsu Grand Theatre was staged for four consecutive days from the 19th to the 22nd at the Taipei Performing Arts Center. About 6000 spectators entered the theater to experience the profound heritage and unique charm of traditional Chinese aesthetics on site. The play cleverly integrates various elements such as dance, costumes, scenery, music, etc., vividly reproducing the classic scenes of "Dream of the Red Chamber" on stage. In terms of narrative, the traditional episodic novel features are adopted, with each of the twelve dance segments being independent yet echoing and connected into a coherent piece. This performance has been well received by Taiwanese audiences, and tickets for all shows are hard to come by. Before and after the performance, the audience lined up in long lines at the Taipei Performing Arts Center to gather stamps and take photos in the theater poster and costume display area. After the performance on the 20th, Lin Huaimin, founder of Taiwan Cloud Gate Dance Theatre, said, "It's very exciting! Heroes have always been young, it's amazing!" "I'm so excited, my heart is surging now! ”Ms. Jing, the audience member, still had red eyes after watching the performance. "I have been following this drama all along, and this time I won the ticket. I decisively gave up the opportunity to travel, it was worth it!" "This is a clever fusion of classic and innovation, truly experiencing the shock and beauty of traditional Chinese culture. ”After watching the play, the audience Ye Wei was extremely excited. "Whether it's lighting design, stage scheduling, or transition handling, they all demonstrate a high level of artistic quality and modern beauty, especially the design concept of dual space on stage, which breaks the traditional performance style and is more in line with the aesthetic appreciation of modern audiences." "Dialogue with classics in a modern way is an extremely romantic encounter. ”The director of the drama, Li Chao, expressed the hope that through this Taipei tour, this literary masterpiece can approach Taiwanese audiences in an innovative way and convey the Eastern aesthetic implications behind it. It is reported that the drama is planned by Jiangsu Cultural Investment Group, produced by Jiangsu Grand Theater, jointly produced by Nanjing Ethnic Orchestra, and jointly produced by Lixing Studio. It has won the 13th China Dance "Lotus Award" Dance Drama Award. This is the first time the drama has performed in Taiwan. At present, the drama has completed over 300 performances in more than 30 cities. (New Society)
