On June 29th, the China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing and the China Logistics Information Center released data showing that in the first five months, the total amount of social logistics in China was 13.87 trillion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 5.3% calculated at comparable prices, with a growth rate 0.3 percentage points lower than the previous four months. In May, it increased by 5.0%, a decrease of 0.5 percentage points from April. Meng Yuan, Deputy Director of the Logistics Statistics Department of China Logistics Information Center, told reporters that although the growth rate in May has slowed down, the fluctuation range has narrowed compared to the previous month, indicating that the recovery trend of logistics demand is stabilizing, which has to some extent alleviated the impact of external factors and laid a solid foundation for the smooth operation of the industrial chain, supply chain and economy. The growth rate of logistics demand is stable but slowing down, but the structure is optimized. "Entering May, the overall logistics operation is stable. The growth rate of logistics demand is stable but slowing down, but the structure is optimized. The growth of industrial logistics is stable, and the recovery of consumer logistics for people's livelihoods is accelerating. Logistics supply continues to expand, and segmented fields are thriving; The overall price level of logistics services is stabilizing, and the operation of micro entities is basically stable. ”Meng Yuan said. Data shows that in the first five months, the total amount of industrial logistics increased by 5.6% year-on-year, with a growth rate 0.1 percentage points lower than the first four months. In May, the year-on-year growth rate was 5.5%, but the growth rate decreased by 0.1 percentage points compared to the previous month. Despite being affected by external factors, industrial product logistics overall maintained stable and rapid growth. Meng Yuan stated that from a structural perspective, under the dual driving force of industrial upgrading and policy implementation, the logistics demand of the vast majority of industries still maintained resilient growth in May. In terms of industrial upgrading, the demand for equipment manufacturing logistics with a contribution rate of over 50% leads to the continuous optimization of industrial product logistics structure, with industries such as automobile manufacturing, computer communication, and other electronic equipment manufacturing all growing at a rate of over 10% in May. In terms of policy support, the equipment renewal policy has driven a high increase in the material flow of equipment manufacturing industries such as motors and ships. The growth rate of industries such as motor manufacturing, ship and related device manufacturing, boiler and original equipment manufacturing remained at 10% to 20% in May. At the same time, the holiday economy drives people's livelihood consumption, and the release of related demand accelerates the recovery. In the first five months, the total logistics volume of goods between units and residents increased by 6.4% year-on-year, an increase of 0.5 percentage points from the previous four months. The total logistics volume of goods between units and residents in May increased by 8.3% year-on-year, an increase of 2.1 percentage points compared to April. From the perspective of new growth points, new consumer formats such as live streaming sales and instant retail are becoming increasingly mature. In May, with the combination of e-commerce promotions and national subsidy policies, the demand for related consumer logistics was further stimulated. ”Meng Yuan stated that the online retail sales of physical goods increased by 6.3% year-on-year in the first five months, an increase of 0.5 percentage points compared to the first four months. The e-commerce logistics index in May was 111.6 points, a month on month increase of 1.1 points, and the index reached a new high for the year, indicating a good demand growth trend. The expansion of logistics supply scale maintains vitality. In the first five months, the total revenue of the logistics industry was 5.6 trillion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 4.2%. Although the growth rate fell by 0.5 percentage points compared to the previous four months, the logistics market continued to expand, and most sub sectors showed good development trends, maintaining vitality in logistics supply. It is worth noting that in May, the prosperity index of China's logistics industry was 50.6%, although it fell 0.5 percentage points month on month, it maintained an expansion trend for three consecutive months. Meng Yuan stated that since the beginning of this year, China's logistics transportation network has operated stably, and the trend of structural adjustment has continued. At the same time, the support capabilities of aviation cross-border logistics, railway international transportation, etc. have been enhanced, effectively supporting the logistics cycle. Firstly, the proportion of efficient transportation methods has increased. In May, the volume of civil aviation cargo and mail transportation increased by 16.6% year-on-year, which is 12.3 percentage points higher than the increase in cargo volume. The international air cargo capacity continues to strengthen, maintaining a high-speed growth rate of 26.3%; Secondly, the transformation of bulk cargo transportation is deepening, and the turnover time of national railway freight transportation is shortened, resulting in a 1.0% increase in transportation efficiency; The third is the gradual promotion of multimodal transport, and the steady growth of bulk goods' transit through rail. In May, China's warehousing index was 50.5%, running in an expansion range for seven consecutive months. The inventory turnover index is 52.4%, indicating active warehousing operations for bulk commodities, daily necessities, and other commodities, resulting in high commodity turnover efficiency. From the perspective of logistics supply, the optimization of transportation structure, the improvement of warehousing and logistics turnover efficiency, the stable operation of international cross-border logistics, and the systematic and collaborative enhancement of comprehensive logistics operation efficiency. ”Meng Yuan analyzed that, however, it should also be noted that there is still operational pressure on micro logistics service providers, with fierce competition in service prices in some areas and sustained low profit margins. From the perspective of the later trend, Meng Yuan expects that with the strengthening and expansion of policies such as equipment updates and trade in, equipment manufacturing and consumer logistics for the people are expected to continue their upward trend. However, the pressure on imported international logistics and price wars in some areas may continue, and logistics demand is expected to remain stable within the year. From the index perspective, the business activity expectation index in the logistics prosperity index has remained in the high prosperity range of over 55% for three consecutive months, and the logistics market expectations in areas such as intermodal transportation and low altitude economy have improved. The next step is to promote the coordinated development of logistics supply and demand. By deepening the innovation of logistics organizational models and other means, we can further improve the efficiency of economic operation and strengthen the stable support role of logistics in the supply chain.
