Nine individuals in Hong Kong who have made outstanding contributions to safeguarding national security have been awarded honors

On the 1st, the Hong Kong SAR government published in the Gazette the list of honours and appointments of Justices of the Peace for 2025. This year, the Chief Executive has awarded a total of 427 honors and certificates. Among them, 9 individuals who have made outstanding contributions to safeguarding national security, including the Secretary for Justice of the Special Administrative Region Government, Lin Dingguo, have been awarded honors. It is understood that individuals who have been awarded honors and commendations come from different social classes and backgrounds, benefiting various fields and sectors of society, including public and social services, education, healthcare and public health, finance, business and industry, innovation and technology, charity and public welfare, culture and art, sports, housing, transportation, construction and urban development, environment, religion, labor and welfare, women and youth affairs, and professional services. The Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, Carrie Lam, congratulates all the award winners and thanks them for their significant contributions to Hong Kong. He hopes that they will continue to fully demonstrate their strengths and serve society in their respective fields. Li Jiachao expressed gratitude to the 9 individuals who have made outstanding contributions to safeguarding national security. Despite facing targeted malicious attacks and suppression from external forces, they have steadfastly and fearlessly fulfilled their duties, actively participated in the implementation of the Hong Kong National Security Law and the relevant work of the National Security Ordinance, and made great contributions. They should be awarded honors and praised. Among these 9 people, Lin Dingguo, Xiao Zeyi, Qu Zhiguang, Liu Cihui, and Jian Qien were awarded the Golden Bauhinia Star; Jiang Xueli was awarded the Silver Bauhinia Star; Li Guihua, Wang Zhongxun, and Zhao Yonglan were awarded the Bronze Bauhinia Star.
