Macao will hold an international art biennial exhibition to inspire artistic resonance throughout the city

The "Arts and Culture Macao: Macao International Art Biennial 2025", hosted by the Cultural Bureau of the Macao SAR Government and co organized by the Tourism Bureau, will be held from July to October. The press conference for the event will be held on July 2nd at the Macau Cultural Centre to introduce the relevant situation. This event covers six sections including home exhibitions, public art exhibitions, city pavilions, special exhibitions, local curation plans, and parallel exhibitions, connecting nearly 30 exhibitions throughout the city and gathering cutting-edge artists from more than 10 countries and regions. The main exhibition is located at the Macau Museum of Art and will be open to the public from July 19th. Nearly 80 pieces (sets) of artwork from 46 artists from 13 countries and regions will be exhibited, including paintings, sculptures, installations, images, photography, and more. The public art exhibition is themed "Come and Go, Often" and features 5 pieces (groups) of works by 8 leading artists distributed in public places and communities in Macau, connecting a wider range of communities, residents, and tourist habitats. In addition, taking advantage of Macau's recognition as the "East Asian Cultural Capital" by 2025, we have invited Chinese, Japanese, and Korean artists to collaborate on the creation of the "Time Tower", engraving the cultural bonds between East Asian cities. The Portugal City Pavilion and the Jinan Pavilion in China will debut in the City Pavilion section, focusing on the tension between tradition and innovation; The special exhibition includes 6 shows such as "Hass Brothers: Moonlight" and "Picasso: Indulging in the Search for Beauty". The local curation program selected 6 exhibition proposals from nearly 40 applications to explore the dialogue relationship between Macau's historical memory and globalization; The parallel exhibition will feature 9 exhibitions showcasing the diverse creative energy of Macau.
