On the morning of the 7th, the Shandong aircraft carrier formation of the Navy successfully concluded its 5-day visit and departed from Hong Kong. The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government held a farewell ceremony at the Ngong Shuen Chau Barracks Pier. On the morning of the 7th, Hong Kong citizens and representatives of young students who came to bid farewell arrived early at the Ngong Shuen Chau military dock. The Zhanjiang and Yuncheng ships had completed all preparations before departure. In the busy Victoria Harbour, the signal flags of "Thank you for your care" and "Serve the people" were raised on the masts of the Shandong and Yan'an ships anchored in the west anchorage. At around 10 o'clock, the farewell ceremony was held at the Ngong Shuen Chau Barracks Pier. The formation commander expressed gratitude and respect for the warm support of the Hong Kong SAR government and the people, and the officiating guests took a group photo as a souvenir. After the ceremony, the Zhanjiang and Yuncheng ships sounded the clear naval whistle, and the officers and soldiers lined up in the side of the ship, waving to the crowd on the dock. The two ships left the Angchuanzhou military camp dock and went to the designated sea area to meet the Shandong and Yan'an ships. Hong Kong SAR helicopters and fleets piloted and accompanied the fleet, escorting them out of the district boundary. During the visit, the Shandong aircraft carrier formation organized a series of activities such as deck receptions, ship openings, training exhibitions, national defense knowledge lectures, and sports and cultural exchanges, igniting the "aircraft carrier fever", "navy fever", and "national defense fever" in Hong Kong, and consolidating strong patriotic and ethnic sentiments. Hong Kong teenage students unfurled a huge five-star red flag on the deck of the Shandong warship, while white haired elderly people stood on the warship and shed tears. Citizens sang "Me and My Motherland" with officers and soldiers, and the message wall at the dock was filled with blessings for the motherland and gratitude for the people's army... These touching moments have become precious memories shared by naval officers and soldiers and Hong Kong compatriots. According to statistics, more than 30000 Hong Kong citizens, young students and patriots from all walks of life boarded the warship during the visit of the Shandong Ship Aircraft Carrier Formation to Hong Kong.
