The founding conference of the International Society for Deep Space Exploration was held on July 7th in Hefei, Anhui. This is the first international scientific and technological organization in the field of deep space exploration in China. The International Society for Deep Space Exploration, jointly initiated by the Deep Space Exploration Laboratory, the Lunar Exploration and Aerospace Engineering Center of the Chinese National Space Administration, the Chinese Society of Astronautics, the Chinese Society of Space Sciences, and the French Planetary Exploration Horizon 2061, gathered 20 domestic academicians and 31 foreign scientists to jointly initiate the application. After more than two years of preparation, it was approved by the State Council in April this year and became a non-profit international science and technology organization registered with the Ministry of Civil Affairs with independent legal personality. In the future, the society will focus on the development trend of international deep space exploration in fields such as lunar exploration, interplanetary exploration, and asteroid defense, and clarify the scientific direction and technological path of space exploration; Organize high-level international academic events, build extensive cooperation and exchange platforms, and gather the wisdom of global scientists; Promote the transformation of deep space science and technology achievements to serve economic and social development; Organize scientific popularization exhibitions and exhibitions, international education and training, and promote the cultivation of global aerospace technology talents; Publish and distribute international academic journals, carry out major international projects and awards for outstanding scientists, and inspire global scientific discoveries and technological innovation.
