There are 2 to 3 typhoons landing or significantly affecting China, with 1 possibly heading north and affecting the northern region. The situation of flood and typhoon prevention is not optimistic. The consultation emphasized the need to make every effort to prevent floods in major river basins, continuously carry out hidden danger investigation and rectification in key areas and locations, refine and implement flood prevention plans that exceed standards, strengthen scientific scheduling of flood control projects, prepare for the use of flood storage and detention areas, solidly carry out embankment inspections and defenses, and timely discover and dispose of dangerous situations. We need to coordinate urban flood control and drainage, promote flood control and coordination, strengthen inspection and defense of low-lying areas, sunken overpasses, subway tunnels, and underground spaces, timely carry out risk and safety control, and ensure the normal operation of the city. We need to strengthen typhoon defense, organize sea vessels to return to port in advance for shelter and workers to go ashore for refuge.
