The annual report shows that the air traffic network of Hong Kong International Airport continues to grow, with 27 airlines opening or expanding flight services to 56 destinations. As of the end of this fiscal year, approximately 140 airlines were providing services at Hong Kong International Airport, connecting over 200 destinations worldwide. The Chairman of the Airport Authority, Lin Tianfu, stated that Hong Kong International Airport has crossed multiple important milestones in the past year, and air traffic has continued to steadily recover. In November 2024, the three runway system was put into operation on time and within budget, increasing the airport's annual passenger and cargo handling capacity by 50% and consolidating Hong Kong's position as an international aviation hub. The Airport Authority launched a new brand called "SKYTOPIA" in January this year, which integrates commercial activities, popular culture, art transactions, and entertainment leisure. The Airport Authority stated that this project will make Hong Kong International Airport an important engine for Hong Kong's economic development. In addition, as an important international air transportation gateway in the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area, the Hong Kong International Airport Dongguan Airport Center provides innovative sea air cargo intermodal transportation services for air cargo. Within the fiscal year 2024/25, the total value of goods shipped using this service will increase to approximately RMB 18 billion. The Airport Authority stated that within this fiscal year, it has also reached an agreement to purchase 35% equity of Zhuhai Airport, strengthening cooperation between Hong Kong and Zhuhai airports.
