The 35th Hong Kong Book Fair, hosted by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council, opened on the 16th at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. A group of over 40 mainland publishing units participated in the exhibition with nearly 20000 high-quality books. This year's mainland exhibition area is themed around Sichuan province. The reporter saw on site that the Sichuan themed provincial exhibition area is about 120 square meters, divided into three major areas. In the book area, books such as "Encountering Sanxingdui" and "Shu Road Heritage Series" decode the ancient Shu civilization code; In the fusion zone, the cultural and creative products of the Giant Panda IP are charmingly simple, and the Sichuan embroidery patterns and modern designs attract many tourists to stop and visit; In the activity area, Sichuan opera face changing and long mouthed teapot tea art were performed one after another, attracting continuous applause from the audience. The mainland exhibition area has specially set up a special area to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti Fascist War. Through works of historical value and literary appeal, such as Back to the Mountain, readers can return to the heroic years of the Chinese nation's bloody struggle. The food culture exhibition area is interwoven with the fragrance of ink and rice, and the "Palace Museum Tribute Tea Collection" tells the elegant charm of royal tea banquets with precious images. The "When National Treasures Meet National Treasures" national treasure parade in Hong Kong, jointly organized by China International Culture Group, China Giant Panda Protection and Research Center, Hong Kong Zhuhai Macao Bridge Authority, and others, also kicked off at the book fair on the same day. The exhibition showcases 55 outstanding paintings by children from Hong Kong, Macau, and mainland China. Among them, 22 paintings from Hong Kong cleverly blend the adorable pandas with the urban landscape of Hong Kong. 21 paintings from mainland China, many of which focus on the natural beauty of panda habitats, some depict the dynamic scenes of pandas playing in bamboo forests, and some combine pandas with cultural symbols such as the Forbidden City and the Great Wall. In addition, participating companies such as Hong Kong Sanlian Bookstore, Hong Kong Zhonghua Book Company, and Hong Kong Commercial Press under the United Publishing Group have rented over 200 booths and launched nearly a thousand new books and cultural and creative products, covering humanities and social sciences, business management and finance, teaching materials and teaching aids, practical life, and children's books, providing readers with a rich reading feast. The Chairman of the Hong Kong Trade Development Council, Frederick Ma, stated that the Hong Kong Book Fair, which was first held in 1990, has become a major cultural event in Asia with the support of the industry and citizens. It shoulders the mission of promoting reading and facilitating cultural and artistic exchanges between China and foreign countries. This year's book fair was held simultaneously with the Sports and Leisure Expo and Snack World, attracting over 770 exhibitors and receiving enthusiastic responses. It brings together elements of reading, sports, leisure, and food, continuing to create a summer event suitable for all ages for citizens and tourists. This year's Hong Kong Book Fair will last until the 22nd, with over 620 cultural activities held both inside and outside the venue. (New Society)
