The large-scale international cultural and artistic event in Macau, "Arts and Culture Macau: Macau International Art Biennial 2025" (hereinafter referred to as "Arts and Culture Macau 2025"), was launched on July 18th at the Macau Cultural Centre, with the main exhibition opening simultaneously. Nearly 30 exhibitions across six major sectors will be held from July to October, featuring cutting-edge artists from over ten countries and regions. These exhibitions aim to innovate artistic narratives, revitalize historical sites, delve into community textures, and inspire humanistic vitality, making Macau a "city of art" where life and art intersect and resonate. The "Arts and Culture Expo Australia 2025" aims to gather global creativity through a collaborative model involving government, enterprises, artists, and the public, working together to create urban art events and cultural tourism brands, injecting new momentum into the construction of "one center" and "one base". This biennial exhibition is led by Feng Boyi as the overall curator, with the theme of "Hi, what are you doing here?" corresponding to the ultimate question of "Who am I? Where did I come from, and where am I going?", exploring the meaning of individuals and the world. The main exhibition is located on the first to third floors of the Macau Museum of Art, breaking through the traditional exhibition layout by integrating non exhibition public areas such as corridors, stairs, and bathrooms with the exhibition area into 20 exhibition spaces. Nearly 80 pieces (sets) of exhibits from 46 artists from 13 countries and regions are exhibited, many of which are created by artists specifically for Macau or inspired by Macau's unique cultural elements. The public art exhibition section located outdoors, with the theme of "coming and going, often", showcases 5 works created by 8 domestic and foreign artists based on the history, reality, and daily space of Macau, integrating art into the pulse of the city. The special exhibition sections hosted by six comprehensive vacation and leisure enterprises, including Wynn's "Millennium Porcelain Capital, Lotus Connecting the World - 'Jingdezhen Macao' Hai Si Porcelain Light Digital Art Exhibition" and MGM's "cAI? Laboratory 2.0- Are You Watching Me or Am I Watching You", present a kaleidoscope style colorful art exhibition, endowing Macao's "Art Capital" with vitality. The Urban Pavilion section, the Portuguese Gira Free Town Pavilion, and the Chinese Jinan Pavilion will open successively from September, focusing on the tension between tradition and innovation in their respective cultural systems. Local exhibitions and parallel exhibition boards are also exciting and diverse. (New Society)
