In lively small theaters across Northeast China, three humorous arts originating from different cultural backgrounds, namely cross-talk, stand up comedy, and stand up comedy, are simultaneously flourishing in everyday life. As a rapidly rising foreign language expression art in recent years, stand up comedy is often compared with traditional local cross-talk art, especially stand up comedy, and there was once a saying that "cross-talk is not as good as stand up comedy". Some people in the field of Quyi argue that stand up comedy is only the "primary stage" of cross-talk and storytelling. However, how to view these three language arts, audience preferences, and box office revenue are important indicators that cannot be ignored. Faced with the difficult to obtain tickets for the Errenzhuan Garden and the popular talk show performances, the historically rich art of cross-talk has slightly declined. At the same time, the balance between entertainment, ideology, and artistry is a common challenge that these three need to address. (New Society)
