The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Ministry of Public Security, the State Administration for Market Regulation, and the National Fire and Rescue Bureau recently jointly issued the "Opinions on Strengthening the Implementation of Compulsory National Standards for Electric Bicycles and Accelerating the Supply of New Products". It is reported that the new mandatory national standard "Safety Technical Specification for Electric Bicycles" will be implemented from September 1st. Opinions have been made to deploy strict production management, certification management, sales supervision, registration management, replacement of old vehicles, protection of consumer rights, and construction of long-term mechanisms for electric bicycles, in order to promote the adjustment and adaptation of all links in the electric bicycle industry chain according to the requirements of the new standards, and accelerate the formation of an industrial ecology and regulatory model that adapts to the requirements of the new standards. The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology will continue to promote the implementation of opinions with relevant departments, strengthen tracking and effectiveness, ensure the effective supply of products that meet technical specifications, effectively improve the intrinsic safety level of electric bicycle products, effectively safeguard the safety of people's lives and property, and accelerate the high-quality development of the electric bicycle industry.
