Youth anti fraud education should always be online

2025-07-25

Not long ago, a police report from Huangzhou District, Huanggang City, Hubei Province sparked widespread social attention. Three high school students arrived together in Xishuangbanna, Yunnan on June 25th, but lost contact with their family and friends on June 27th. The sending location was shown as overseas. According to reports, one of the students had previously met social figures online and was invited to attend under the pretext of "giving rhino horns". This incident reflects the urgency of strengthening cybersecurity education for young people. In the wave of digitalization, teenagers, as "digital natives", have their growth trajectories deeply intertwined with the cyberspace. However, they are inexperienced in the world, have strong curiosity, generally lack social experience, and have weak risk identification abilities, making them easy targets for fraudsters. From traditional phone and text message scams to traps set up through online games, social platforms, and false part-time job information, some scammers take advantage of teenagers' desire for independence and the pursuit of new things, using the guise of "zero threshold, high return" part-time jobs to lure them step by step into the scam; Or use bait such as "free game skins" and "anti addiction relief" to deceive them of their personal information. Strengthening anti fraud education for young people is urgent and requires collaborative efforts from families, schools, and society. Family is the primary environment for children's growth, and parents should play a good role in supervision and guidance. On the one hand, it is important to pay attention to children's online social interactions and daily routines, and be aware of any abnormal financial expenditures, strong emotional fluctuations, or excessive addiction to the internet. Problems should be promptly identified and resolved through communication. For example, parents can regularly communicate with their children about their online experiences and guide them to view online information correctly. On the other hand, parents should properly keep important personal information such as payment passwords and bank card passwords. At the same time, it is necessary to popularize anti fraud knowledge to children, so that they can understand common fraud methods and hazards, and enhance their awareness of prevention. As the main battlefield of education, schools should enrich their educational forms and incorporate anti fraud education into their daily teaching system. Not only can anti fraud themed class meetings and lectures be held, inviting police officers or experts to explain anti fraud knowledge to students, but anti fraud knowledge competitions, scenario simulations, and other activities can also be organized to deepen students' understanding and coping abilities with fraud methods through participation. For example, by simulating fraud scenarios, students can play different roles, experience the language and tricks of scammers, and improve their vigilance and adaptability. In addition, schools can also use campus broadcasting, bulletin boards, instant messaging and other channels to continuously promote anti fraud information, making anti fraud education always "online". At the social level, relevant departments should increase their efforts to rectify the online environment, strengthen supervision of various platforms and companies, and reduce the spread of fraudulent information from the source. Internet enterprises should also assume social responsibility, strengthen the review and management of user accounts, and timely alert or intercept suspicious fraud information. At the same time, the community can organize anti fraud propaganda activities targeting teenagers, such as distributing promotional brochures, organizing parent-child anti fraud activities, etc., to expand the coverage of anti fraud propaganda. Teenagers are the future and hope of the country. Only with the joint efforts of families, schools, and society can we protect young people and enable them to safely navigate the online world. By working together from multiple parties to build a strong safety line for their healthy growth, we can allow their youth to bloom calmly in the sunshine. (New Society)
