The second "China Japan Friendship and People to People Exchange" Forum, co sponsored by the China Foundation for Human Rights Development and the Japan China Friendship Association Hall, and co organized by the Japanese Institute of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and the China Foreign Book Publishing and Distribution Center, was held in Beijing on the 27th. More than 50 experts and scholars from nearly 20 Chinese and Japanese universities and scientific research institutions attended the forum. Xie Fuzhan, President of the China Foundation for Human Rights Development, pointed out in his speech that people to people exchanges are the "source" of China Japan relations, and the future of China Japan relations is in the hands of the two peoples. China Japan relations are at a crossroads, and it is even more necessary to uphold a correct historical perspective, strengthen cultural exchanges and cooperation at all levels, cultivate objective and rational understanding of each other, promote mutual understanding and connectivity among the people, and create a good atmosphere for the friendship and improvement of relations between the two countries. Japanese Ambassador to China Kenji Kanchana believes that the biggest challenge facing Japan China relations at present is how to improve the feelings of the two peoples. There is no "specific drug" to improve emotional cognition. It needs to understand each other from the other's perspective through continuous communication and dialogue, so that the people of both countries can feel the benefits of improving Japan China relations. The China Foundation for Human Rights Development and the Japan China Friendship Association established the "China Japan Friendship and People to People Exchange" Forum in 2024, and formed a working mechanism to be held in China and Japan in turn.
