On stage, as soon as the opening of "Three Beats at the White Bone Spirit" created by Zhejiang Wu Opera Art Research Institute (Zhejiang Wu Opera Troupe, abbreviated as "Zhe Wu"), Yang Xiayun, who played the role of the "White Bone Spirit", staged a "three in one transformation": in just a few seconds, the three facial expressions switched one after another, and the Chinese costume instantly turned into plain clothes, causing the audience to exclaim in surprise. The related videos quickly spread on social media platforms and became popular. The Wu Opera, which is popular in Jinhua, Lishui, and Quzhou in Zhejiang Province, has a long history. During the Ming and Qing dynasties, theater troupes of various genres flooded into the Jinli Qu area, blending with local folk music and cultural customs, ultimately forming the art of Wu Opera, which combines six different vocal styles: Gaoqiang, Kunqu, Luantan, Huixi, Tanhuang, and Shidiao. The continuous popularity of "Three Beats of White Bone Essence" is a microcosm of the inheritance and development of ancient Wu opera today: adhering to tradition and innovation, singing with artistic masterpieces at home and abroad.
