Currently, only two can maintain normal combat readiness. Argentina is seeking to import active duty frigates from Denmark to fill the gap in its naval fleet. The so-called "hot ship transfer" refers to the seller directly transferring the active and well run warships to the buyer, rather than building or providing retired old ships specifically for the buyer. The characteristic of this transfer method is that the ship's power system, weapon equipment, etc. are all in a usable state, and can quickly form combat effectiveness without the need for adjustment. It can greatly save costs and time, and is suitable for countries that urgently need to improve their naval strength. Affected by the continuation of the Russia-Ukraine conflict and the US Trump government's desire for Greenland, Denmark launched a large-scale naval expansion plan at the beginning of this year, which will build 15 to 20 new ships, including the next generation of major large ships, and equip its fleet in Greenland with new frigates. The total investment will exceed DKK 70 billion (about US $10.9 billion). To activate military construction funds, Denmark intends to sell its active warships. The Danish Navy currently has two Absalon class and three Ivan Huthfeld class frigates in service, both of which have a displacement of over 6000 tons and were commissioned between 2004 and 2011. The Absalon class is a multi-purpose vessel that combines the design concepts of amphibious ships and surface main battle ships. It has an 84 meter long elastic deck under the middle and rear decks, which can carry helicopters, landing craft, Leopard 2 main battle tanks, as well as command and communication, special operations, medical rescue and other modules. This type of ship has the ability to transport equipment, deliver troops, and command fleets, and can also undertake combat tasks such as air defense, anti submarine, and anti-ship. The Ivan Houtfield class frigate is built on the basis of the Absalon class, inheriting the latter's characteristics of large displacement and high automation. It has multiple modular upgrade interfaces that can be expanded according to mission requirements. It is equipped with more advanced active phased array radar, with a maximum detection range of about 150 kilometers, capable of tracking 250 targets simultaneously, and guiding 32 anti-aircraft missiles to attack 16 targets. In terms of firepower, each ship is equipped with two sets of 12 unit MK56 missile vertical launch systems for launching ESSM medium and short-range ship to air missiles, and one set of 32 unit MK41 missile vertical launch system for launching SM-2 medium and long-range ship to air missiles. Its combat management system was developed by Ter ma, a Danish company. This class of ship has participated in the "Prosperity Guardian" escort operation organized by the United States in the Red Sea. According to reports, both Danish frigates mentioned above can better meet Argentina's demand for new types of ships.
