The China Russia "Maritime Joint-2025" joint exercise opened on August 1st at a military port in Vladivostok, Russia. The exercise is themed "Joint Maintenance of Strategic Channel Security and Joint Response to Western Pacific Security Threats", aiming to further deepen the comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Russia in the new era and enhance the ability to jointly maintain international and regional peace and stability. The exercise will be conducted in the sea and airspace near Vladivostok, Russia, and will continue until August 5th. During the port and shore planning phase, both parties organize joint planning and professional discussions, as well as exchange activities such as friendly ball games, ship visits, and deck receptions. After entering the implementation stage of the joint maritime exercise, both sides will carry out exercises on submarine rescue, joint anti submarine, air defense and missile defense, and maritime operations. On August 1st, at a military port in Vladivostok, Russia, officers and soldiers from both China and Russia lined up neatly to participate in the "Maritime Joint-2025" joint exercise. Previously, the participating troops from both sides had completed their assembly on July 31st, as reported by Xinhua News Agency reporter Li Yangyang. The Chinese participating forces include missile destroyers Shaoxing and Urumqi, comprehensive supply ship Qiandao Lake, comprehensive rescue ship Xihu, fixed wing aircraft, carrier based helicopters, and Marines. The Russian side dispatched the large anti submarine ship "Admiral Tributz", the light escort ship "Loud", the lifeboat "Belousov", as well as fixed wing aircraft, carrier based helicopters, and Marines to participate. Since 2012, the "Maritime Joint" series of exercises between China and Russia has been successfully held 10 times, becoming an important platform for naval cooperation between the two countries and comprehensively driving the improvement of the level of maritime joint operations. After the exercise, China and Russia will also organize joint maritime patrols in relevant Pacific waters.
