The Information and Electronic Engineering Department of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and the China Information and Electronic Engineering Technology Development Strategy Research Center recently released the "New Generation Information Engineering Technology Artificial Intelligence Emerging Technology Candidate List" (referred to as the "Candidate List") simultaneously in Beijing and Hong Kong, providing reference for potential AI hot technologies in the next 5 to 10 years. The Hong Kong press conference was held at the University of Hong Kong, with over 100 teachers and students including President Zhang Xiang and Vice President Shen Zuojun participating in the event, which was broadcast live in sync with Beijing. It is reported that the alternative list proposes nearly 300 technologies around three categories. Focusing on technological innovation in the field of information engineering technology, 163 technologies including 6G technology, multimodal large models, and super general intelligent agents have been proposed; 122 emerging technologies such as computational neuroscience, intelligent wearable devices, and AI assisted drug design have been proposed to catalyze the transformation of existing productivity in response to the transformation and upgrading of traditional industries and interdisciplinary integration. In addition, 12 AI hot topics closely related to daily life, such as big model technology, embodied intelligence, and intelligent unmanned systems, have been proposed. During her speech, Li Xiaohong, President of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, expressed her hope to ensure that the development of artificial intelligence always meets the national strategic needs through the release of a "candidate list"; Promote the deep integration of artificial intelligence and traditional industries, achieve "stock innovation" in traditional industries, and "incremental breakthroughs" in emerging and future industries. At the same time, leveraging the intellectual advantages of the academician community, proposing specialized, constructive, and practical opinions and suggestions to provide intellectual support for scientific decision-making in the industry. During his speech at the press conference in Hong Kong, Shen Zuojun pointed out that the Chinese Academy of Engineering, as a national high-end think tank and the highest honor and consulting academic institution in the field of engineering and technology, has jointly released a "candidate list" with the University of Hong Kong in both Beijing and Hong Kong, which is of great significance.
