On the day of the beginning of autumn on August 7th, the Shanxi Provincial Theatre staged its first performance of the famous play "Beginning of Autumn" at the Beijing Tianqiao Art Center. The drama showcases the ups and downs of Shanxi merchants in the midst of transformation difficulties, promoting the values of honesty and the spirit of upholding integrity and innovation. The play "Liqiu" tells the story of the Ma Honghan family, a Shanxi "Fengde" ticket holder, who faced a life and death test during the turbulent early years of the Republic of China, but still adhered to the spirit of self-improvement and integrity, squandering their wealth and retaining their reputation. The drama was written by Yao Baoxuan and Wei Zhong, directed by Chen Yong and Cha Mingzhe. Since its premiere in 2004, it has performed nearly 900 times and won awards such as the Special Prize of the 10th "Five One Project" for Spiritual Civilization Construction and the 12th Wenhua Award.
