The "Commemoration of the 80th Anniversary of the Victory of the War of Resistance Against Japan - Seminar on Moderately Diversified Economic Development and Economic Security in Macau" was recently held, inviting Professor Mo Jihong, a member of the Faculty of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and Director of the Law Institute, as the keynote speaker. The seminar focused on the intrinsic connection between moderately diversified economic development and economic security, and delved into the important role of industrial diversification in ensuring economic security. Huang Jialun, Chairman of the Macau Patriotic Education Youth Association, stated that the diversified development of Macau's economy is not only a necessity at the economic level, but also an important guarantee for maintaining Macau's long-term prosperity and stability. He hopes to provide ideas and directions for Macau's economic development through discussions, and jointly contribute to Macau's economic security and development. In his keynote speech, Mo Jihong stated that moderate and diversified economic development is a must answer question for Macau. It should be based on the advantages of "one country, two systems", combined with its own historical and cultural heritage, location characteristics and other practical situations, actively explore diversified development paths, strengthen economic cooperation and coordinated development with the mainland and surrounding areas, enhance the endogenous driving force and risk resistance ability of economic development through resource complementarity and advantage superposition, and achieve high-quality sustainable development. Dai Jianye, Secretary for Economy and Finance of the Macao SAR Government, stated that with strong support from the central government, the Macao economy has entered a critical stage of transition from recovery growth to high-quality development. In the second quarter of this year, the local gross domestic product (GDP) grew by 5.1% year-on-year, and the economy is showing a clear trend of stability and improvement. The SAR government closely adheres to the positioning of "one center, one platform, one base" and the development direction of "1+4" diversified industries, focusing on building an industrial structure that is in line with Macao's actual and sustainable development, and enhancing the economy's ability to resist external risks and assess risks. At the same time, we will continue to deepen regional cooperation, actively connect with the national "15th Five Year Plan", promote the construction of cooperation zones at a high level, and strengthen institutional construction such as the linkage and rule connection of the Australian piano industry. The seminar is jointly organized by the Macao Special Administrative Region Economic and Technological Development Bureau and the Macao Patriotic Education Youth Association. Yang Quanzhou, Deputy Minister of the Economic Department of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government of Macau, Wu Huixian, Director of the Macao SAR Government Gaming Supervision and Coordination Bureau, Xie Yongqiang, Chairman of the China Merchants Investment Promotion Bureau, Chen Xinxin, Director of the Research Department of the Hong Kong Chinese Academy of Sciences, Tian Yihui, Vice Dean of the Business School of the City University of Macau, representatives of the Macao Live Streaming Association, Macao Society for Financial Technology and Education Development, Macao Doctoral Think Tank and other organizations attended the meeting.
