August 12th every year is the United Nations' International Youth Day. On that day, the World Youth Forum (WYF) Future Boya Leaders Summit opened in Macau. More than 400 young representatives from China, the United States, India, Indonesia, and Thailand attended the conference. The summit, themed "Technology and Humanities" in the era of artificial intelligence, will feature a five-day cross-cultural study and urban exploration. Young people will delve into the deep relationship between "technology and humanities" in the AI era from three dimensions: academic exploration, creative expression, and public issues. Mentors and judges from universities such as the University of Macau, Newcastle University, and the Central Academy of Fine Arts will provide in-depth guidance and interactive exchanges across fields and disciplines for the young representatives attending the conference. During the summit, more than 400 young people will start the "Macao Cultural Exchange Tour", discuss youth responsibilities under the multicultural background at the University of Macao, experience the cultural heritage of technology empowerment at the Macao Science Museum, and exchange the way of integration of Chinese and Western art in front of the memorial archway of Dasanba. As an important node of the Maritime Silk Road, Macau is not only a base for exchange and cooperation with Chinese culture as the mainstream and diverse cultures coexisting, but also an important node for mutual learning of civilizations in the WYF network. Hou Hao, the director and executive convener of WYF, stated that as an international youth challenge learning platform, WYF will host its second core event in Macau this year. This is due to the cultural characteristics and international perspective of the integration of Chinese and Western cultures in Macau, and we hope that the event will become a link for global youth dialogue. It is reported that as of now, WYF has covered over a thousand young people from 15 countries and regions, covering topics such as finance, business, general education, and humanities. (New Society)
