Recently, the Guangdong Provincial High People's Court released for the first time the top ten innovative mechanisms for ecological environment justice, covering areas such as watershed collaborative protection, ecological restoration execution supervision, and carbon sequestration judicial practice. This fully demonstrates the innovative practice of Guangdong courts in strengthening the ecological barrier of southern Guangdong with the strictest rule of law, and providing high-quality judicial service guarantees for the green and beautiful ecological construction of eastern Guangdong. It is reported that in the past three years, the courts in the province have concluded more than 39000 first instance ecological environment and resource cases of various types. It is reported that the ten innovative mechanisms released this time involve cross regional and cross departmental collaborative protection mechanisms for key rivers, reservoirs, and multiple national and provincial nature reserves in Guangdong. They also include ecological restoration, governance, protection, and cutting-edge ecological mechanisms for "carbon trading" and "carbon emissions" of mangroves, marine areas, and rare species. Ranked first among the top ten mechanisms is the "Cross regional Judicial Protection Cooperation for Key River Basin and Mountain Range", which reflects the Guangdong court's focus on the integrated protection of river basins and mountain ranges, establishing mechanisms such as trial execution assistance, resource information sharing, unified judgment standards, and important matter consultation, and building a cross regional, cross departmental, and multi-level judicial cooperation system covering inter provincial and inter municipal levels. The transition from "end of pipe punishment" to "source prevention" and "ecological restoration" is a distinctive feature of ecological protection in Guangdong courts. Among them, the Guangdong Higher People's Court, together with nine other units including the Provincial People's Procuratorate, the Department of Natural Resources, and the Department of Ecology and Environment, issued the "Measures for the Transfer of Ecological Environment Damage Restoration to Government Departments for Supervision in Guangdong Province", which for the first time made clear regulations on the transfer of ecological environment restoration supervision cases, supervision, and restoration evaluation and acceptance at the provincial level.
