Wuhan Xianglushan Station becomes the second starting station for the China Europe (Asia) train

On August 14th, a Central Asia train departed from Wuhan Xianglushan Station and entered Kazakhstan. These 51 40 foot containers of goods were car parts, transported from Anqing, Anhui via the Yangtze River to Wuhan, and then seamlessly connected to the dock railway dedicated line for direct loading and transportation. The water was transferred to the Central Asia train by rail. On the platform, the person in charge of Wuhan CSP Terminal and the customs officer smiled at each other - this is the first time that the train using the "direct customs declaration, no need for transfer, and one ticket to go out to sea" intermodal transportation mode has been successfully launched, marking Xianglushan Station as the official starting station for Hubei's second China Europe (Asia) train. This once obscure fourth class station has now become a new pivot for the development of Hubei's open economy. Xianglushan Station, located in the hinterland of Wuhan Yangluo International Port, was initially only a supporting industrial station for Huaneng Yangluo Power Plant. In order to meet the demand for iron water intermodal transportation at Yangluo International Port, the original Yangluo Power Plant dedicated line was renovated and expanded, ultimately forming the Wuhan Huangzhou Railway from Wuhan North to Huangzhou. Xianglushan Station has become a freight station on the Wuhuang Railway, but due to its long-term responsibility for transporting coal from a single power plant, it is only classified as a fourth class small station. Xianglushan Station is located adjacent to the Yangtze River, with the Wuhan North Marshalling Station, the national railway hub, and the Yangluo Power Plant and Yangluo International Port Iron and Steel Intermodal Terminal Phase I and II. It is also connected to the Huangzhou Station of the Beijing Kowloon Railway to the west, and has a clear location advantage at the intersection of the Yangtze River's golden waterway and railway network. But before August, the goods exported from Wuhan to Central Asia and Europe through the Yangtze River waterway faced a bottleneck - they had to be transferred by short haul to Wujiashan Station 60 kilometers away for shipment, which not only increased transportation costs but also required 2-3 days of transfer. On August 6th, the first direct Central Asia train from Xianglushan Station opened up a new model for international trade logistics in Hubei. The train numbered 75192 is loaded with car parts produced in Hubei. After completing the "one-stop" customs clearance at Xianglushan Station, 51 containers will go directly to Kazakhstan. Behind the intermodal transportation model of "direct customs declaration and one shipment overseas" is the institutional innovation of multi departmental cooperation. Wuhan Xingang Customs has introduced facilitation measures such as early declaration and green channel to achieve the rapid release of goods. The intelligent loading and unloading system of Wuhan CSP Terminal achieves seamless connection between goods landing at the terminal and railway loading. Hubei Railway Group Rail Operation Co., Ltd. actively coordinates with Wuhan Bureau Group Company to allocate sufficient transportation resources, ensuring timely and efficient departure of trains and safe operation. The most direct benefit of upgrading Xianglushan Station to a starting station is reflected in the dual compression of time and cost. Compared with the previous mode of having to transfer to Wujiashan Station, the transportation time of goods at Xianglushan Station can now be shortened by about 2 days, and the overall cost can be reduced by about 15%. The newly launched automotive parts train has significantly reduced the time from production to delivery to Central Asian customers, and the continuous release of transportation capacity will provide stable and efficient logistics channels for Hubei's foreign trade enterprises. The upgrade of Xianglushan Station to a departure station marks the official formation of a new pattern of "dual station transmission" for China Europe and Central Asia trains in Wuhan. It forms a "dual core drive" with Wujiashan Railway Station located in Dongxihu District, Wuhan, changing the previous situation in Hubei where there was only one departure station for trains. This layout optimizes the regional logistics network - Wujiashan Station mainly serves the western and northern regions of Hubei, while Xianglushan Station focuses on radiating to eastern and southern Hubei and surrounding provinces, greatly expanding the service coverage of China Europe and Central Asia trains. Professor Guo Wenjun from Zhongnan University of Economics and Law believes that this is undoubtedly a milestone event for the construction of the Wuhan hub. On the one hand, it strengthens Wuhan's position as a logistics hub in central China, and on the other hand, it provides a more convenient channel for Hubei enterprises to "go global". (New Society)
