On August 19th, the reporter learned from the West Kunming Company of the Beijing Kunming High speed Railway that the Binghui Tunnel of the Chongqing Kunming High speed Railway, with a total length of 21.17 kilometers, has been successfully completed. This is the first 20 kilometer long tunnel on the entire Chongqing Kunming High speed Railway that has been completed. The Binghui Tunnel is located in Yiliang County, Zhaotong City, Yunnan Province. It was surveyed and designed by China Railway Eryuan Engineering Group Co., Ltd. and constructed by China Railway Fifth Bureau. It is a first level high-risk tunnel and a control project for the entire Chongqing Kunming high-speed railway line. The Chongqing Kunming high-speed railway is an important component of China's "Eight Vertical and Eight Horizontal" high-speed railway network, the Beijing Kunming corridor. After the completion and opening of the Chongqing Kunming high-speed railway, the travel time from Chongqing to Kunming will be significantly reduced, greatly improving the transportation convenience between the southwest region and the whole country, and promoting the coordinated development of regional economy.
