2025-08-21

On August 20th, the Ningxia Hunan ± 800 kV High Voltage Direct Current Transmission Project ("Ningdian Xiangxiang" Project) of State Grid Corporation of China was put into operation for power transmission. The project is the first approved ultra-high voltage transmission channel in China, mainly for the transmission of new energy from the "Shagehuang" wind and photovoltaic power base. It is of great significance for promoting the large-scale optimization of clean energy allocation and improving the power supply guarantee capability. As an important channel connecting the western new energy enrichment area with the central load center, the project has a rated voltage of ± 800 kV and a rated capacity of 8 million kW. It starts from Zhongning Converter Station in Zhongwei City, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, passes through Gansu, Shaanxi, Chongqing, Hubei, and ends at Hengyang Converter Station in Hengyang City, Hunan Province, with a total length of 1616 kilometers.
