Recently, the Beijing International Theatre Center's People's Art Theatre was filled with applause. The "Blooming Youth · Drama Gathering in Beijing Tianjin Hebei - College Student Drama Exhibition" kicked off here. College student drama groups from 14 universities in the Beijing Tianjin Hebei region gathered at the professional theater, and fifteen original works with diverse styles will be presented one by one. Since the registration for this exhibition started in March, a total of 42 works have been received. Eventually, 15 works were selected to appear on the stage of the People's Art Theatre, and over 200 college students participated in the creative work behind the scenes. In the opening performance, three original works representing universities in the Beijing Tianjin Hebei region were the first to be performed: "Zhang Boling" takes the Anti Japanese War as the main historical background, focuses on the life experience of Zhang Boling, the founder of Nankai University, and expresses the patriotic spirit inherited by Nankai University for nearly a century on stage; The Double Snow Record reinterprets and excavates the Yuan Dynasty drama "The Injustice of Dou E", showcasing a spiritual transformation of constantly pursuing truth and freedom through a dual narrative spanning seven hundred years; The story of "Makino Chang Ge" revolves around the background of rural volunteer teaching, drawing inspiration from real life and telling the emotional journey of a volunteer teacher in a poetic way. On August 23rd and 24th, four performances were held in this exhibition, featuring 12 plays from 11 universities. The performances covered different themes and styles such as student original works, adaptations of famous works, and classic performances, showcasing the rich artistic creation and expression abilities of contemporary university students through diverse artistic presentations. It is reported that Beijing People's Art Theatre will continue to promote the deep integration of art and universities in activities such as the "Beijing Colorful Culture · Youth Blossoming" action plan, and work together with universities to create high-quality campus dramas, allowing drama education to deeply integrate with more universities.
